Not to say you don't have any, but that's where I see the most opportunity for your strategy to get disrupted. Set: Commander Legends Type: Legendary Creature Angel Rarity: Rare Rather than pay 2 for each previous time youve cast this spell from the command zone. Your mileage may vary, though, as it looks like you have plenty of ways to trigger it.Īll of that said, I think your list looks solid and is probably a lot of fun to play! In general, if you want areas to tighten up the deck, you could look for bombs that more immediately impact the board. I feel like it's another card that's great when it works as intended, but gets targeted before you really get too much value. ] similarly is a cool card that often feels kind of rough in practice. I make space for a few efficient ones, but I find you pay a lot of life to Liesa, and it's not hard to draw the attention of the table when she's out. On that note, I'd caution against a critical mass of cards where you pay life, as well- ] and the like add up fast. It's neat when it does work, but often you've just wasted way too much life to have Liesa removed in response. ] was a recent cut for me and I don't miss it. Whenever a player casts a spell, they lose 2 life. Looking at your list I see more of a lifegain angle, which I can't speak too much to, but I have a few suggestions for what you may want to consider swapping out. Rather than pay for each previous time youve cast this spell from the command zone this game, pay 2 life that many times.

I'd call it more or less optimized, but there's definitely cards that I just like playing in there that may not be the most efficient. Been playing some variation since Commander Legends first dropped, but ultimately lean into stax and some Voltron-esque strategies. Welcome to the cult! Here is my list if you're interested. The best tip I can give though is this: get Liesa out early, politic your ass off, and watch as even while you sit on your hands you’re winning the game. Swinging a 4/4 with Lifelink that can turn into a 40/40 at instant speed is crazy fun. I’m only suggesting it because I never see anyone play it but in the hands of the right person it has huge potential, and I like to bring it to the attention of people where I can. Finally, and this is a weird one, a card I’ve always found fun that fits with a semi life gain theme is ]. If you decide to go the route of gaining life, obviously ] is a great selection, but I also recommend ] to beef up Liesa as well as ] for a fun trick. I don’t know how your playgroup plays, but if they’re anything like mine a card like ] will go a long way to making friends who forget about the constant life drain. I’ve found that even with many swaps in mine it’s more so about how it’s piloted, as I’ve noticed some of my friends struggling to be as effective.Ĭards like ] would be powerhouse additions if you’re looking for big spells that can swing a game back in your favor. The list looks good for whatever direction you decide to go. I’ve had games where I cast five spells and win through attrition.

The deck does have two cards that generate tokens, plus numerous ways to reanimate creatures (it is a black and white deck, after all), but I would like to ask for the feedback of the other users here, before I make a final decision. My Liesa deck is built entirely around making everything cost more, and it’s been a powerhouse in my playgroup for a while now. However, I have two concerns about Razaketh first, he costs 8 mana to summon, but this deck does have eight mana-generating artifacts, so I am not overly concerned about that and, second, he requires that I sacrifice a creature to use his ability. I am currently building a black/white EDH deck with Liesa, Shroud of Dusk as the general, and, as with all of my EDH decks, it contains Ring of Three Wishes, but I recently have been realizing that the ring is not nearly as good as I originally thought that it was, so I am considering replacing it with Razaketh, the Foulblooded, since he can take advantage of that deck's theme of gaining life and using that life as a resource.
